Kitty Cats

It seems that the stray cats near my area are not afraid of me anymore....

They still laze around although I try to 'stare' them out.

Non-swimming beach trip

Just to share with you some peektures my M took of me and my baby sister on our recent trip to the beach. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to go swim coz my M says the water doesn't look that clean and also she did not bring any of my shower stuff.

But I still like sitting down and enjoying the sea breeze.

We found a sand shell thingy that someone made and left it there. My M said it's giant Helios poop.

Poop and me?

Now I look like a camel with that poopy... I mean shelly thing behind me.

Although I didn't get to swim, both of us enjoyed the day very much.

Dozing off in car

Remember my MM used to drive a 7-seater and they converted the whole backspace for me?

Well, my MM changed back to a sedan car so I lost my backspace. Now I have to squeeze in front at my M's feet. I can't even catch a proper sleep sitting up now.

Oh well, at least I get to sit very, very close to my favourite person in the world. :)

Me, cake?

How time flies! My baby sister just had her 3rd birthday pawty. And her Godma, who also happens to be Aunty G (Jack and Joey's owner), very generously sponsored her birthday cake and I am proud to say that I am the main feature of the cake.

Look, that dog is a fondant model of me! Doesn't it look like me? I think i look more stately but the humans all said the the baker captured my silliness very well.

Stately me

That's my baby sister admiring me... I mean her cake.

My M says she will save the fondant me since the baker said it can be kept for months in a cool, airtight place. So if it survives til December, she'll recycle it on my barkday cake.

I don't know if that's a good idea or not....

K9 Cafe

Just two weeks ago, my MM took all of us to the K9 cafe for brunch. Or rather, they had brunch and I had the scraps. Something is wrong here. If it's a canine (K9) cafe, why are THEY getting food and I'm getting scraps? Isn't the cafe meant for me?

Anyway, I almost fell asleep waiting for the food to arrive. At least the humans had ice cream float while they waited.

Yawn

I tried to check out the progress in the kitchen but the door was closed.

Darn!

Finally the food arrived but I had to wait for my baby sister to start eating first.

Hurry up!

And of course she had to tempt me...

This is pepperoni...

As if I didn't know that's pepperoni, and anyway, I don't care what that is!

Just feed me already!

Well, in the end, I did manage to get a few pieces of pizza, and fries.

Contented tummies

I also made some new friends...

BC: What's this thing on you?

BC: Erm, you do know there's something on your back?
Me: Yeah... that's my baby sister.

Maybe I can try to get more food the next time we go back.

ASD Tea Pawty

On saturday, my M attended the Action for Singapore Dogs (ASD) Tea Party held at Klapsons hotel. It's a boutique hotel in Singapore and it was a rare chance for me to actually step into a hotel. Or maybe not, coz we weren't allowed into the main lobby area, but took a lift direct to the open bar area on the top floor. But at least I managed to take a photo with the hotel signage.

The event is to raise fund for Treasures, a 3 legged dog involved in a hit and run accident.

I was supposed to hitch a ride with Jack & Joey but Aunty G was caught in a bad traffic jam so we came on our own. But I kept looking out at the stairs to see when they will arrive.

I was looking at the stairs, not the chef....

I was really looking at the stairs, and I;m NOT salivating!!

I finally got to meet Homer as well. But I didn't really like him at first coz he's got bigger balls.... I mean, paws than me. And I don't really like big strange intact male dogs. But he was too busy checking out 2 bootiful labs sitting next to us.

Homer sniffing lab butt

I said bootiful coz I was attracted to them too.

Me sniffing lab butt

The bootiful labs... they were actually meant to serve as guide dogs but they failed their tests and so were adopted by this family.

Save us from the butt sniffers please!

Well, in the end I got used to homer and we even managed to take a few photos together, but I don't have the pictures to show you coz it was Homer's mum who took the photos.

There were a few contests, Homer won the largest dog contest and I won the best coat for long coat contest.

And here's me with my cookie 'medal'.

Posing proudly with my best coat

Strangely, a lot of humans took photos of me wearing my medal and even more strangely, a lot of dogs were looking at me hungrily when I was wearing my cookie medal.

I wonder why....

It was an fun day and I got loads of goodies in the goodie bag. I hope we get to go to another one soon!

Raw Paw

My paw is itching very badly right now. My M noticed last night that I kept licking my paw and on closer inspection, was shocked to see that I've licked my paw so vigorously that the fur is gone and now it's just a raw patch.

My MM said I must have caught the licking paws bug from Scuba, coz Scuba LOVES chewing/ licking his paws.

Me with my raw paw

I think some naughty insect bit me during one of my walkies coz my M noticed a small bump on my paw.

Raw Paw

The bad thing is, once she noticed it, she stopped me from licking my itchy paw. I tried to disobey her but got my head knuckled instead. So she put some medication on me and made me wear one of my baby sister's old bootie so that I won't be able to lick it during the night.

And of all the bootie she took, she had to choose a white one... with lace!

What an insult. As you can see, I wasn't too happy about that but to save my head from being further knuckled, I had to swallow that insult.

disgruntled me

My M said she might have to start digging for my big brother herbie's lampshade from the storeroom. I don't know what's worse, lacy bootie or lampshade.

Happy Barkday, Scuba!

We celebrated Scuba's barkday last saturday. He's now a ripe old age of 8! But I don't think he's a very happy boy on his barkday coz Aunty V did not give him any dinner.

She said he's been eating the odds and ends from the cake while they were baking it during the day, and he'll be eating his cake anyway that night, so better not give him dinner. So Scuba was in a listless mood the whole evening until they took out the cake. Then the humans took pictures of the cake, making us dogs all excited, and decided to keep the cake again coz they were waiting for Tommy's baby brother to come sing the birthday song.

So you can imagine how eager Scuba was to eat his cake once everyone was here.

The human kids were fighting to blow out the candle, and Scuba was busy eating his dinner. I think he won't have noticed even if his nose got sliced off in the process.

And here's me enjoying the yummilicious cake. That was my 2nd helping and I even got some to take home.

And you can hear my tattletale baby sister in there, trying to prove that she's a good girl by asking for permission.

By the way, the humans had a feast too by having a human cake and nasi lemak!

Happy barkday Scuba and thanks for sharing your day with us!

Mr Unpopular Stalker

Here was what I did at the park over the weekend, stalking a chocalate lab. My M says (as you can also hear in the video later), that I have a thing for choc labs. Something about them just makes me like them... maybe it's the chocalate? But they never like me back.

But as you can see, their irritation has never stopped me from pursuing what I what. I have nothing but determination in buckets! Or like my M would say, stupid stubborness. I don't even mind them scolding me!

Are there any nice choc labs out there who wouldn't mind being my friend?

I'm jealous of Mr Golden

Sorry for the extreme lack of updates this month, as my M was busy travelling. First there was the family trip to Taipei and Hongkong, and then there was her work trip. I can understand why my M is not bringing me on her work trips, but shouldn't I be joining on the family trips since I'm part of the family?

Instead, this golden here got left behind while the OTHER golden in the family gets to go on holidays.

Mr Golden waiting for his flight

Yes, his name is really MR Golden. And so far he has been to Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taipei and Hong Kong again. He's taken more plane rides than me and I am JEALOUS.

And he came back with these pictures to taunt me with too!

Mr Golden enjoying the inflight movies

Mr Golden at the Hot Spring Resort with the waterfall behind him

Mr Golden with the room key to the Hot Spring Resport room

Mr Golden in the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel bed

Come to think of it, I think my baby sister was the only kid lugging a non-disney character soft toy in disneyland.

And to top it all off, not only did my baby sister bring only Mr Golden on the trips, she found herself another golden to harrass in Taipei!

I thought I was the only golden she should sleep on, but nooo... she found this resident dog of a cafe. So what if he's the owner of 3 cafes named after him? I have a whole range of products named after ME!

I think my baby sister should have her loyalty checked.

What can a dog do around here to earn a howliday?

Jailed

This happened to me last week. One day, my MM asked my M if she locked me inside the bedroom before she left for work because when he went home, I was alone in the room with no waterbowl and no windows opened (only the small window in the toilet was opened).

My M was surprised and said no, and later they realised that it was my baby sister who locked me in. Apparently that morning, before she left for school she came into the room to give my usual hug and kiss goodbye. And when she left the room, she conveniently closed the door after her. My M didn't realise as she was waiting outside for my baby sister.

Boy was I glad when my MM came home and released me from imprisonment! It was boring and stuffy in the room!

I wonder if I can sue my baby sister for false imprisonment....

Holiday camp

My M went on a business trip last week and who else did I bunk in with but Scuba?

Here's us having a little snooze...

And of course we have to include Pepper too...

Aunty Viv kept telling my M what a scaredy cat I had been and that the wild birds who flew into the balcony were scaring me so much that I was hiding in Aunty S's room. I must say that I am not a scardey cat. I am VERY brave, especially with my M is standing behind me. But the humans say I'm brave only because I have a back up.

Other than me, my baby sister also had a sleepover with Scuba the week before.

I bet Scuba must be thinking by now why everyone is sleeping in his house.

Picking up girls

Yup, here I am, picking up a girl. Actually it's my baby sister, and she gets excited when she sees me at the window when I pick her up.

And she also likes me to say goodbye to her friends with her at the same window when we leave. I get so popular that her friends will sometimes ask where I am when I am not there to pick her.

Hugs!

My baby sister hugging me before she goes to childcare.

Funnily, that's the same thing she does when she tries to lift me up or ride me like a horse.

Now I'm starting to wonder if that really was just an innocent hug...

Foot Fetish II

Apparently, not only do I have a foot fetish, I only have a fetish for certain feet, as my M found out recently.

Look how I rejected my M's feet in favor of my MM's feet? A few times she tried to interrupt my licking frenzy by stuffing her feet in my face but I moved away.

To console herself, my M has declared that my MM's feet are more 'stinkoooo', that's why I like it more. And now she refuses to let me lick her after I've been near my M's feet.

Baby Sofa

Before I start on my post, just an update on the GR that my M and MM went to see. They decided not to adopt her, mainly because my M did not feel any 'connection' with the GR (in other words, she's doesn't feel like Herbie). My M commented that she behaves more like me instead of like my big brother herbie. Apparently she's a scardey cat like me, although I still think we're dogs. My M was hoping for a stoic dog like my zen-like big brother Herbie, not another cat.

Anyway, she's still on the look out for my big brother.

On another note, my M was transferring files from the handycam to the PC last night and came across some old videos she took of me and my baby sister.

So here's sharing one of the with you guys...

Some things never change. For the record, I am STILL a baby (or rather, toddler) sofa. And now my baby sister has started attempting to ride on me. She will hitch her leg up over my back while I'm still standing as if she's mounting a horse. So far my M has been successful in stopping her but I wonder how long my good luck will last.

Is there a doggie chiropracter around? I might need one in the near future.

Another baby sister?

I was at Scuba's house yesterday, and all the aunties were asking me if I'd like to have another baby sister. Isn't ONE baby sister enough to torture me already? Why do I need another?

Instrument of torture

Then Aunty G said if I wanted a CANINE baby sister. Now that's a whole different story altogether. With 2 dogs against 1 baby, we'll win 8 paws down!

It turns out that there might be a 7 month old female GR up for adoption and my M and MM are thinking of popping down for a look. My M in particularly, would like to see if it's my big brother Herbie reincarnated since the psychic had told her Herbie might be reborn anytime after July 2010. So counting the months, it's a possiblity this 7 month old could be Herbie. But my M was wondering, can Herbie get reincarnated as a GIRL? Anyway, Aunty G said that Herbie gets mistaken for a girl all the time anyway when he was alive.

So if the 'feeling' is right, I may get a new sister!

Help the animals of the Japan Tsunami/ Earthquake

While help has been directed to helping the poor Japanese people affected by the terrible disaster from all over the world, we must not forget our furry friends as well. They must be equally lost, scared and displaced.

Here is a touching video of a dog who refuses to leave his canine friend.

Here is an English translation of the voiceover exchange between the two reporters in the clip (translation courtesy of Toshiyuki Kitamura):

We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.

He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.

Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.

Where?

Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.

The dog is protecting him.

Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.

I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.

Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.

Yes! Yes! He is alive.

He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.

Oh good. He's getting up.

It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.

These two dogs were lucky to be rescued, but there are many more out there needing help.

Worldvets is a international veterinary aid organization providing ongoing veterinary programs in 28 countries worldwide as well as disaster response for animals. They are now collecting donations for medication for the animals in Japan. Please help to donate, no amount is too small.

Terrorizing Pepper

Me and my baby sis.... we make a good tag team.

But I don't think Pepper shares the same view as us.

I don't know why I'm so unpopular with dogs AND cats. I don't like some dogs, but I LOVE cats. They should love me back, doncha think?

My M says it's got something to do with my 'lack of respect for personal space' when I was trying to climb on her and stick my nose in her face. I wonder what she meant...
